Our Community keeps growing with amazing experts and partners. We can’t wait to put them all in the spotlight.
In this edition, Stefan and Desirée give us a glimpse into their profession and share some of their expertise with us.
Can you describe what you do?
I'm a Sales Leader who works with startups and scaleups, mainly SaaS, tech, IT and software companies in NL and Benelux.
I specialise in sales coaching, setting up sales processes and strategies, and creating sales playbooks and CRM. I coach sales teams on business development and the sales processes they have designed and implemented.
What makes you a good sales leader?
I think the most important goal for a leader is to find out how to motivate people. I focus on the people in my sales team. I encourage them to keep learning and keep developing their skills. I create an environment where they can share and implement new ideas, and where they can grow. I prioritise one-one-ones with each of my team members to get a better understanding of their challenges and goals.
Can you share some current trends in the sales industry?
A big trend at the moment is social selling. Just telephone or email is no longer the way to success. You need to implement multi-channel outreach – a combination of telephone, email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn
and other channels – to reach potential clients. I think this is the most successful way to generate new leads and coach new clients these days.
For lead generation, we use a multichannel outreach strategy with a main focus on generating LinkedIn outreach through DMs in combination with LinkedIn organic marketing. Social selling, through post creation for instance, is a great way to generate leads because most decision-makers are on LinkedIn.
How would your clients describe you?
Direct, open, honest, energetic, and always willing to help others.
Why did you decide to become a Content Strategist?
While working as a copywriter, I realised that I was missing the outside-in perspective. I started interviewing the clients of my clients and that's when it became so much easier to connect the dots and identify my clients' blind spots. It was such a big aha moment, it made me realise that I wanted to focus on in-depth, qualitative analysis and research.
What makes you stand out from the crowd?
First of all, I'm a girl in a man's world, which calls for a particular type of leadership. I have empathetic reasoning built in, which is exactly what is missing in many founders and owners in seemingly boring industries like legal, IT and finance.
I have more than 20 years of marketing experience. Nowadays, everything can be regurgitated with AI, so you need someone who knows when to ask more questions. I'm used to diving into buyers' motives, USPs and value propositions; areas where assumptions seem to prevail if you stay on the surface. That's creative work. That's where the magic happens.
What made you decide to join the Rhamnous Community?
I decided that my theme for 2024 would be cooperation. I have been doing a lot of things on my own for the past 10 years, but I realise that together you go faster. I like the concept of this community of partners, each with their own speciality. It would be great to build something together. I love building things with like-minded people, who believe they can do things with more fulfilment, and I get that vibe from the Rhamnous Community.
